Dr. Steven I. Sloan, MD is Board Certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He attended medical school at the University of Colorado and did his internship at the VA Medical Center in Boise, ID. Dr. Sloan completed both his residency and fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic in 2005. He has practiced in Albuquerque, NM; and Washington, DC where he was recognized by Consumers’ Checkbook as one of the “Top Doctors in the Washington area”.

He is experienced in epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation for facet pain, joint injections, spinal cord stimulation, and is trained in Vertiflex. Dr. Sloan is a contributing author on nearly 20 medical research projects involving pain transmission in the spinal cord, the cellular basis of drug-resistant asthma, and interventional treatments for lumbar degenerative disc disease. He also authored “An Introduction to Pain Management,” a manual that describes core concepts of interventional pain medicine. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
