Before you come in
Fill out your forms at home
Pick the packet for the reason you’re coming in. Print it, fill it out, and bring it to your first visit. It saves time at the front desk and gets you to your exam sooner.
Can’t print them? Fill them out when you arrive. It adds a little time to your visit.
What happens at your first visit
One visit to find the cause and start treating it
- Check in. Hand us your forms, your insurance card and a photo ID. We verify your benefits as part of your visit.
- Your history. Tell us what hurts, when it started, what makes it worse and everything you’ve already tried. We listen to our patients and never ignore what they tell us.
- A full exam. We test your movement, strength, reflexes and the nerves involved to find what’s causing your pain. X-rays only if you need them. You’ll also fill out a short questionnaire about your pain and what it keeps you from doing, so we can measure your progress at every re-exam.
- Your first treatment. Most patients start treatment the same day. An adjustment is never required for any care we provide. If you’d rather not be adjusted, we have plenty of other ways to treat you.
- Your plan. What we found, what we recommend and what it involves. For decompression, that happens at a second visit, with your MRI on the screen.
Plan on about 90 minutes: roughly 30 minutes for your exam (a little more if we take X-rays), then about 45 minutes of treatment. Your visit may run shorter or longer depending on why you’re coming in. See below.

How your first visit works for each treatment
DRX9000 spinal decompression
Two visits. At the first, you get your history, a full exam and your first treatment on the DRX9000. If you don’t have an MRI or CT, we’ll send you for one. At the second, we go over your MRI with you, give you a straight answer and put your investment in writing, with any insurance credit applied. You can start your program that same day.
Bring: your MRI or CT (the images and the report) if you have one, your insurance card, a photo ID and a list of your medications.

About 60 minutes. About 30 minutes for your consultation: your diagnosis, everything you’ve already tried, and an exam. Then about 30 minutes of treatment.
Bring: a list of your medications (including any seizure or nerve-pain medications), any records or test results about your diagnosis, and a photo ID.

About 90 minutes, nothing out of pocket. Your exam, your first treatment, and before you leave, Silvia, our practice manager, walks you through how your care gets paid for. Same-day appointments are held for accident patients.
Bring: your auto insurance information and claim number if you have one, your health insurance card, a photo ID, the police or crash report number if you have it, and your attorney’s contact information if you have one.

We bill Medicare and most insurance plans, and we verify your benefits as part of your first visit. CareCredit, Affirm and in-office payment plans are also available.

Napier Park is off the eastbound access road of North Loop 1604, between Northwest Military and Bitters. Put Texas Spine Clinic into your maps app and it will bring you to our door. If you're running late or can't find us, call (210) 741-9166 and we'll walk you in.
Look for the 3212 sign at the street. Park right out front; our entrance is the double door under the stone gable.

Common questions
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed for your first appointment, and if one is needed for subsequent visits, we will get it for you.
Can I be seen today?
Yes. New patients can be seen the same day, Monday through Thursday. Call (210) 741-9166 or book online and we'll find you a time.
Do I need an MRI before my first visit?
No. If you have one, bring the images and the report. If you’re coming in for decompression and don’t have one, we’ll send you for an MRI or CT after your first visit and go over it with you at your second.
Will I be treated on my first visit?
Most patients start treatment the same day. Spinal adjustments are done the same day, usually after X-rays. Decompression patients get their first DRX9000 treatment at the consultation. Scrambler therapy patients get about 30 minutes of treatment after their consultation.
Do I have to get adjusted?
No. An adjustment is never required for any care we provide. We also use decompression, laser, ultrasound, muscle stimulation, heat, ice and exercises.
What does the first visit cost?
It depends on what you're coming in for:
- Back or neck pain: the $49 DRX9000 consultation covers your exam, a review of your imaging, and your first treatment when the exam and imaging confirm you're a candidate. Book it online.
- Nerve pain: a $19 scrambler therapy consultation. Your $99 first session is credited to your course. Book it online.
- Car accident injuries: nothing out of pocket at your first visit. We bill the coverage responsible. Book it online.
- Chiropractic care: we bill Medicare and most insurance plans, and CareCredit, Affirm and in-office payment plans are available. Book it online.
Are you open on Fridays?
Fridays are reserved for scrambler therapy sessions, by appointment, for scrambler patients. Everything else runs Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
